My name is Zane Hawley and I am offering guitar and music theory lessons for musicians of all ages and skill levels. I teach in my comfortable home studio conveniently located in central Pickering close to Highway 2 between Whites Rd. and Liverpool Rd.
I have been teaching for more than 10 years, both privately and at music schools, for all ages from elementary school age to adults. I am a graduate of the Humber College Bachelor of Music program in Jazz Guitar. I also have an Independent Music Production Certificate from Seneca College, and a Jazz Professional Certificate from Berklee College of Music. I have a wide range of performance experience including rock, jazz, music theatre, and many more styles.
I can teach guitar in any style of music ranging from rock to jazz, and I can also teach you how to apply music theory concepts in practical and musically useful ways, up to and including writing and arranging your own music. I will customize the teaching approach to your level of ability and personal learning style to make sure you get the most out of each lesson and enjoy learning.
I also offer beginner bass, drums, and ukulele lessons.
If you are preparing to go into a post-secondary music program, I can help as I have been in that situation before. I can tell you the do’s and don’ts when going into an audition and help specifically with preparing music.
The price for lessons is $50 an hour, or $25 per half hour.
